Last season it was announced that Dodger Stadium would undergo a $100M facelift during the off-season as Los Angles prepares to host it’s first MLB All-Star game in 40 years. President Stan Kasten assured fans that while the stadium renovations would be a dramatic overhaul, the stadium would still maintain its endearing and classic feel.
Dodgers VP Janet Marie Smith explained this vision in detail last month in a great update piece with Alanna Rizzo and Spectrum SportsNet LA.
In a follow up column by Ken Gurnick of MLB.com, Gurnick discusses the plans for the renovations and provides some valuable quotes on how the construction is going.
Importantly, according to Smith, the plans are on target:
“We are on target, but we don’t have a minute to spare.”
