Dodgers Designate Tyler White and Kyle Garlick for Assignment After Trades (Dodgers Nation)



After officially announcing the acquisitions of outfielder Mookie Betts and left-handed pitcher David Price, as well as right-handed pitcher Brusdar Graterol and outfielder Luke Raley on Monday, the Dodgers faced a 40-man roster crunch.

After sitting at 42 players for a short time, the club announced what subsequent moves they would be making to reset the roster back to 40.

Late Monday evening, the Dodgers announced that Tyler White and Kyle Garlick had been designated for assignment.

White, 29, came to Los Angeles in a trade with Houston at the deadline last season. He appeared in only 12 games for the Dodgers before being shut down with an injury in September. He collected only 1 hit in 22 at-bats (.045 average) after the trade.

Garlick, 28, was drafted the Dodgers in the 28th round of the 2015 draft. In 5 minor league seasons, he posted a .288 batting average (483-1,678) with 91 home runs and 283 runs batted in. The La Habra, California native made…
