Yankees sign ex-Rockies pitcher Chad Bettis to minor-league deal (New York Post)

TAMPA — The Yankees have invited right-hander Chad Bettis to camp on a minor-league deal that according to The Post’s Joel Sherman would pay him $1.5 million if he makes the big league club and includes $2 million in performances bonuses.

Bettis, 31 in April, pitched for the Rockies from 2013-19.

He was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2016. A blister problem on the pitching hand and a left hip injury put him on the shelf the past two seasons.

Working as a full-time reliever last season Bettis posted a chubby 6.08 ERA. In 164 games (92 starts) Bettis is 31-31 with a 5.12 ERA.

“He is going through physical stuff. My understanding is he should be pretty good to go,’’ manager Aaron Boone said Saturday.
