MLB Slugger Giancarlo Stanton Shares Awesome Story About Home Run Hit Out of Dodger Stadium (Dodgers Nation)



In May of 2015, the Dodgers were playing the Miami Marlins at Dodger Stadium. The legend Mike Bolsinger got the start for Los Angeles against a powerful Marlins team featuring sluggers Christian Yelich, Marcel Ozuna, and Giancarlo Stanton.

The oft-injured right fielder Stanton stepped into the box with two out in the first inning and unloaded on a 0-1 pitch from Bolsinger.

And unloaded may be an understatement… take a look.

It was the fourth ball ever hit out of Dodger Stadium. I was there that night and honestly, I’m still not sure that ball has come down.

It was the only Marlin highlight of the night as they went on to lose by a final of 11-1. However, for Stanton, it was the fulfilment of a promise he made to his father years before.

The now-Yankees slugger was born in Panorama City, California. Moreover, it’s fairly well documented that he grew up going to games at Dodger Stadium. On the five-year anniversary of this monster shot, the man had an incredible story to tell.

I was 10-years-old running after batting practice home runs in the left field bleachers of [Dodger] stadium….
