The Dodgers are gettng one of their big bats back just one week before the postseason. Joc Pederson was reinstated from the medical emergency list today, one day before a series against Oakland.
Pederson had been away from the team for undisclosed reasons, though it was listed as a family medical emergency. The Dodgers did confirm that Pederson took some live swings against Walker Buehler on Saturday afternoon though. Dave Roberts had previously said that Joc would be activated on Tuesday, not that it makes much of a difference.

It’s been a rough year for Joc Pederson in what is his contract year. The Dodgers’ outfielder has slashed just .174/.268/.376 with 6 homeruns. His strikeout rate has shot up and his usual high walk rate has also gone down.
In a corresponding move to make room for Pederson, infielder Zach McKinstry was optioned back to the alternate location. The Dodgers utilized McKinstry in a limited role for the few games that he was up with the team, getting just 7 at-bats. He did manage to get his first big league hit while…
