The Dodgers are probably going to keep making some under the radar moves heading into Spring Training. They have done that for the last few years, and they have continued to do that this month.
Los Angeles did not announce the transaction, but they signed LHP Mike Kickham to a minor league deal. Kickham spent the last year in the Red Sox organization, making 6 appearances with their big league team in 2020.
Since being drafted by the in 2010, Kickham has made just 20 appearances across 3 years in the big leagues. Since then, he’s bounced around with teams around MLB as well as playing a few seasons in the Atlantic League. The Dodgers signed him to a minor league deal but did not make the announcement, opting to post on their transaction page instead.
In terms of overall numbers, it’s not a great outlook for Kickham. Even his peripheral numbers don’t tell a great story or reveal that he is the victim of bad luck in his career. The Dodgers must like something they have seen though, as he will likely get the invitation to Spring Training.
