Dodgers Hoping to Send Cody Bellinger on a Rehab Assignment Next Week (Dodgers Nation)

The Dodgers are slowly but surely getting closer to being healthy. With all of the guys that have gone down early in the year, it’s shocking that the team hasn’t fallen further in the standings. But there are a number of guys closing in on a return to the big league club.

One of those guys is Cody Bellinger. The Dodgers outfielder posted a video of himself running at Camelback Ranch, and it appeared to be the hardest fans have seen him run. He went down with a hairline fracture in his leg after being stepped on in the second series of the year.

The good news is that Belli could be very closer to a return. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts talked about that video and the plan for Cody moving forward. Ideally, they would like to send him on a rehab assignment by next week.

Yeah, he was moving. I got that he ran up to like 19 moh. So it was effortless, he wasn’t compensating, so he’ll take some simulated at-bats tomorrow. Hopefully, sometime later next week we’ll send him out on rehab. 

Roberts went on to say that he wasn’t sure how long Cody would need to be on rehab assignment. He did say earlier that Zach McKinstry would be in Triple-A for 7-10 days…
