Just before game time on Tuesday night in Los Angeles, the Dodgers moved Cody Bellinger to the injured list. The writing was on the walls with Bellinger sitting out the weekend games as well as Monday and Tuesday. But Dave Roberts and the medical staff were still hopeful that he could rebound quickly from the hamstring issue.
The good news is that they remain hopeful the hamstring strain is not serious. It did not respond to treatment as they hoped, but Roberts noted that the IL designation by the Dodgers was backdated. That would make him eligible to come off of the list on June 22nd.
The Dodgers open up a series against the Padres on June 21st. They will play them for 3 games in San Diego from Monday through Wednesday. The team is hoping that they will have Cody back for at least 2 of those games.
Obviously, the Dodgers would like to be back at full strength in the outfield in a series against the Padres. Despite their recent slide and losing 8 of their last 10 games, the Padres are always a threat in the NL West.
The biggest thing right now for the Dodgers is getting Cody…
